I got a crazy idea

I recently come up with this insane idea and wonder if you would be interested to join me as a non official volunteer in Trailwalker 2008. I think of you becoz you are probably physically fit enough to take up this excitement. Don't expect it to be easy (both physical and mental) and 100% safe. Expect certain level of danger as part of the mission will be taken place at night time; not on a plain & smooth route and overnight work without sleep. You may receive unwelcome greetings from the walkers and do not expect any immediate positive feedback nor appreciation.

Date: Nov 7 (morning) - Nov 8 (morning) 2008 (i.e. abt 24 hr but you can tailor make your own schedule )
Main mission: carry water uphill to prepare ginger tea for trailwalkers (my rough calculation: expect over 1000 litre to be delivered for 990 teams of around 3960 walkers with 350 ml each, not all of them would drink btw). If one can carry 20 litre at a time (~20 kg), this has to be done 50 times (or 100 times up and down)

In other words, the more people we have, the easier the task. Ideally, if we can form a team of 3-5, we should be able to assist Mr. Wong fairly effectively. My initial plan to use a 20 litre "Red-A" water bucket (other sizes avail) with a self made knapsack for the water transportation. If we can have a team of 10, we can formalize our logistics a bit... e.g. we can have our own supply team for food & drinks & we may even take shifts.

I DON'T ENCOURAGE YOU TO JOIN IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUS BACK INJURY OR IF YOU DO NOT CONSIDER YOURSELF PHYSICALLY FIT. IDEALLY YOU SHOULD BE A FREQUENT HIKER WITH NO PERMANENT INJURY, ESP. IN KNEES AND WAIST AS WE ARE THERE TO ASSIST, NOT TO CREATE TROUBLES AND INCONVENIENCE.

FAQ:

Q: Why the hell on Earth could you come up with such a dumb idea?
A: I am nuts and I hv too much time.

Q: Why don't you participate in the Trailwalker instead?
A: I don't consider myself to be that fit yet and under my current training, it shud be a go next yr provided that I can find the right team mates.

Q: Should I spread this out or even set up a FB group?
A: Preferably not coz Mr. Wong is a low profile gentleman (we are there to assist him in his way) but if you have candidate(s) who fit the above requirements, no harm sending him/ her an invitation.

Q: How do I know if I am physically fit?
A: If you don't do sports on a weekly basis over 3 hours, forget it.

Q: What do I need to prepare?
A: Food and drinks for yourself, hiking gears (knee guards, first aid kit, ........), torch, headlight ....... and most important of all, YOURSELF.
